DNR HOLDING PUBLIC MEETINGS ON FOURTH BATCH OF STREAM USE DESIGNATION 
REVISIONS FOR IOWA STREAMS

The DNR is holding public meetings across the state to gather input on 
proposed water quality standards designated use changes for a fourth batch 
of select rivers and streams. These changes help protect aquatic life and 
recreational uses.

For a list of stream designations being revised in the water quality 
standards, please refer to the list posted at:

Meetings will be held as follows, listed by town:

Atlantic: Nov. 13, 3 to 6 p.m., Atlantic Rock Island Depot, 102 Chestnut St.

Clear Lake: Nov. 8, 3 to 6 p.m., Clear Lake Community Room, City Hall, 15 N. 
Sixth St.

Independence: Nov. 28, 3 to 6 p.m., Falcon Civic Center, 1305 Fifth Ave. NE

Spencer:  Nov. 5, 3 to 6 p.m., Spencer Public Library, 21 E. Third St.

Washington: Nov. 27, 3 to 6 p.m., Washington Public Library, Nicholas 
Stoufer Room, 115 W. Washington St.

West Des Moines: Nov. 19, 3 to 6 p.m., West Des Moines Public Library, 4000 
Mills Civic Parkway

DNR welcomes New Environmental Engineers to Wastewater Engineering Section

The Wastewater Engineering Section of Water Quality Bureau would like to 
introduce and welcome two new Environmental Engineers to DNR.  Laura Knispel 
and Jeremy Enano, P.E. will start their new duties on October 8th, 2012 in 
the Clean Water State Revolving Loan Fund (CWSRF) wastewater construction 
permit program.

Laura Knispel has been working with the HR Green Inc. Consulting Engineers 
(Des Moines) in the Wastewater Department for the past three years working 
primarily on municipal wastewater engineering projects. She has project 
engineering experience working with the Department's municipal clients, 
contractors, prepared applications for state and federal regulatory and 
wastewater construction permits, engineering reports, project plans and 
specifications, design of wastewater treatment processes and systems, cost 
estimates, assisted on applications with funding agencies, shop drawing 
review, and performed construction observation at project sites. Laura holds 
a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering and has completed 
15 credits towards Masters Degree in Civil Engineering. She holds an 
Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) certificate.

Jeremy Enano has been working with Veenstra & Kimm Consulting Engineers 
(West Des Moines) as a Project Engineer for the past eleven years working on 
providing water, wastewater, and infrastructure engineering services to 
municipalities. He has project management experience working with the 
Department's municipal clients, contractors, prepared applications for state 
and federal regulatory and construction permits including wastewater, 
engineering reports, project plans and specifications, design of water and 
wastewater systems, cost estimates, conducted pre-construction conferences 
and public informational meeting, contract administration, and experience 
with the CWSRF loan program. Jeremy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in 
Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Environmental Engineering. He is a 
licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Iowa.
