I would appreciate it if you would nominate yourself or someone from your
Group to
serve on the Chapter ExCom . The last few years, we have met about 6 times
per year, in Grinnell, DM, Ames, Iowa City and Cedar Rapids. This year, we
ventured
out to the Loess Hills and to Ruthven, specifically to familiarize our
members with these areas.
We need input and ideas from a broad range of people and I hope to hear
from you soon. If you have questions, contact me. Please think about it!
Thanks,
Jane Clark

NOMINATIONS SOUGHT FOR ELECTION TO THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
The Iowa Chapter of Sierra Club is seeking nominations of individuals to
serve on the Chapter Executive Committee (ExCom). The ExCom meets
approximately six times a year, as decided by the committee at the
January meeting.
Meetings are held at different locations around the state. No
experience is necessary!
Some of the items discussed and/or decided upon at the ExCom meetings
might include annual meeting plans, grant applications, State Fair plans,
political endorsements, Chapter positions on conservation issues, reports
on conservation and legislative issues, national conservation campaign
priorities, expenditures, reports from Groups, and special projects or
suggestions of committee members.
Sierra Club needs the involvement of its members if it is to remain strong,
and the Chapter level (statewide) is an important component of that
involvement. Communication between members and the local Groups is
extremely important if we are going to work together for the environment.
I invite you to nominate someone, or to nominate yourself. Nominations
will be published in the next newsletter. If you have questions about
ExCom, please contact me at [log in to unmask]
Thanks,
Jane Clark
