Is there someone in Rep. Greg Ganske's or Leonard Boswell's districts who
would be interested in attending Arctic Wilderness Week?  The training will
be held September 25-29.  The Alaska Wilderness League will pay air fare,
lodging, 1/2 the meals and supply training materials.  You would be
responsible for a couple of lunches and transportation from the airport to
the hotel.

The Alaska Wilderness League is working with the Sierra Club to host
training in Washington, DC.  They are recruiting from Representative
Ganske's and Boswell's districts in Iowa and they are trying to pull in
folks who have not been to one of these training events before, thereby
creating new leaders and trained activists to support the Arctic cause.

If anyone from Sierra Club or Audubon or any other group is interested -
let me know or let Jen Schmidt know!   The recruitment deadline is coming
up fast, as they need to give the hotel a list of participants by Friday,

             ARCTIC REFUGE ADVOCACY TRAINING

This training is for friends of Alaska  who wish to come and learn about or
increase their knowledge of Alaska's wildlife
and wildlands, the numerous threats they face, and what we can do to
protect this spectacular wilderness for future generations to cherish.

The purpose of the training is to increase your knowledge of this
ecologically, culturally, and spiritually vital area and teach you the
skills you need to become a leader in the struggle to permanently protect
the Arctic Refuge!
