Ames Public Meeting
7:30 January 14, 1999

 From the Drain to the River - Winnie Gleason, Environmental Engineer for the
Ames Water and Pollution Control Department will talk to us about waste
water treatment for residential, commercial and industrial waste in Ames.
The meeting will be in the Auditorium of the Ames Public Library, 6th and
Kellogg in downtown Ames

7: 30 February 11, 1999

Dale Brentnall of Izaak Walton League will talk to us about stream
pollution, especially the impacts of agriculture and animal waste. The Izaak
Walton League has been collecting fish kill data and monitoring streams for
thirty years.

This month we will be meeting for the first time in the West Fellowship
Hall at Bethesda Lutheran Church, 1517 Northwestern Avenue. Bethesda has
offered us their facilities on the first Thursday of the month each month
so we can have a "home" in Ames.
