AN UPDATE on SF 399
Time is running out and Victory is so close.
SF 399 is Sen. Kibbe's bill to repeal the exemption that allows hog
factories to register their manure lagoons as pollution control devices
in order to receive a large propoerty tax exemption!
The bill is still sitting in a subcommittee of the House Ways and Means
Committee. Although two of the three sub committeee members support the
bill, Chairman Tieg is sitting on the bill.
All indications are if we can get the bill out of the subcommittee it
will pass the full House. It has already passed the Senate.
Three other people (besides Tieg) can get this bill on to the Ways and
Means agenda. Rep. Jamie Van Fossen is the Committee Chair. Rep. Jack
Drake is the Committee Vice Chair. Either of them can put it on the Ways
and Means agenda so the bill can be discussed and voted on. Rep. Brent
Siegrist, as House Majority Leader, also has the influence to get the
bill moving.
Please take a moment and contact one or all of these legislators and urge
them to bring SF 399 forward.
