On Tuesday April 11th, seven news conferences were held
nationally by an alliance of over 180 groups calling for an
investigation into the leadership of the American Farm Bureau
Federation.

That News Release follows below.

Also, last Sunday, 30 million Americans saw a CBS “60 minutes”
expose on the American Farm Bureau leadership.  All members of
this list are encouraged to send a letter to CBS "60 Minutes" and
let them know how you appreciated the show.  Please do this
today!!

CONGRESSIONAL INVESTIGATION OF FARM BUREAU

        WHY:    On the heels of Sunday's "60 Minutes" investigation,
and a twoyear examination of the Farm Bureau by Defenders of
Wildlife that resulted in a justreleased white paper titled Amber
Waves of Gain, more than 180 organizations have joined together
to demand a congressional investigation of the influential lobbying
group, which bills itself to Congress as the Voice of America's
family farmers when, in reality, it is advocating a wideranging
agenda that hurts rather helps family farmers.

NOTE:  This event is open to credentialed press only and
identification  will be checked at the door.  Breakfast will be served,
and space is  available on a firstcome, firstserved basis.

The white paper, Amber Waves of Gain,  will be distributed to the
media at the news conference.
