HF 577 passed the House yesterday 54 to 44 . This bill
speeds up the process for new power plants. Although
the bill was amended to retain the Consumer's Advocate
Office in the process as far as I can tell the bill
still loosens the environmental standard from the
stricter "mininum" to the weaker "reasonable standard"

SF 503 passed the Senate yesterday 32 to 18. This bill
weakens constuction and operation standards For
Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations

Both bills still need to be passed in the opposite
houses and signed by the Governor to become law.
