The Bitterroot-Mission Group of the Montana Chapter of the Sierra Club is pleased to announce the release of the Sierra Club's new video, "Those Tremendous Mountains - Protecting the Wildland Legacy of Lewis and Clark in the Northern Rockies." The video celebrates the wildlands and wildlife of the Northern Rockies and acknowledges what's been lost since Lewis and Clark explored the region. The video highlights the Sierra Club's Wild America Campaign to Protect and Restore the Wildlands of the Northern Rockies. WHAT'S IT ABOUT? The video explains the importance of the Northern Rockies (Montana, Wyoming and Idaho) to wildlife such as grizzly bears, wolves, and bull trout, as well as the threats posed to the region by oil and gas development, logging, roadbuilding, and off-road vehicles. It shows the beauty of the mountains and rivers of the Northern Rockies and tells the story of what has been lost and what remains of America's wild heritage. It also includes specific suggestions for things that people can do to help protect the region. WHO WILL WATCH IT? This video is 18 minutes long and is suitable for showing at Sierra Club events and meetings. It can also be used as an outreach tool for schools and other organizations that are interested in the upcoming Lewis and Clark bicentennial.
