AACO MEETING TO DISCUSS PROPOSED ANIMAL FEEDING RULES

The Animal Agriculture Consulting Organization will meet on Wednesday, June
6, at 9 a.m., in the fourth floor conference room of the Wallace State
Office Building in Des Moines.

"We will be talking about the Iowa plan for open feedlots and a proposed
rule that will require newly submitted manure management plans to be
approved prior to manure spreading," said Wayne Gieselman, coordinator of
the DNR animal feeding operation program.

Other items on the agenda include a report on recent rule changes,
subcommittee reports and earthen basins.

There will be a public comment period at 9:30 a.m.
