The district court in Northwood, Iowa, will hear a challenge to Worth
County
’s health ordinances. Six citizens and the local Farm Bureau sued
supervisors alleged local ordinances violated state law. The county
attorney
said the countersuit was not filed within 30 days, but the judge
disagreed.

Citizens in nearby Floyd County, Iowa, are demanding ordinances modeled
after Worth County’s. The local Farm Bureau is in disarray over the
proposal. "Rank and file" members generally favor a health ordinance,
but
leaders are demanding caution. A study committee has been appointed.
