WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 17 Central Iowa Sierra Group Grace United Methodist Church 37th and Cottage Grove in Des Moines 7:30 p.m. Dick Worm from Bellevue will present a program about service trips and wilderness trips that he has taken, mostly through Sierra Club. He has led 26 backpack/hiking/camping trips for youth from 1973 - 1999 throughout the United States. Dick is active in the White Pine Sierra Group and a past chair of the Iowa Chapter. Join us for the Species-a-thon compilation and get-together at 6 p.m. Wednesday night, also being held at the church. There will be snacks and beverages. Bring a snack to share if you'd like. The Species-a-thon fundraiser took the place of our auction this year. The first goal of this event is to have fun and interact with other members. A second goal is to learn more about our natural environment.
