Posted by Jane Clark STATE PRESERVES BOARD TO MEET NOV. 16 The State Preserves Advisory Board will meet at 1:30 p.m., Nov. 16, in the Tone Board Room, third floor of the State Historical Building, in Des Moines. The meeting is open to the public. The board will discuss the influences of land use changes near state preserves. Roads, housing developments and commercial developments are some of the possible changes that may influence preserves in the future. Members of the preserves board will also attend the 1st Annual Volunteers in Natural Resources Conference, Nov. 16 - 17 at the Hotel Fort Des Moines. Members of the State Preserves Advisory Board are Robin Fortney, Tim Sproul, Gary Phillips, Dr. Neil Bernstein, Dr. Laura Jackson and Kathy Gourley. The director of the DNR is Jeff Vonk.
