Subject: Jeff Vonk in Webster City Nov. 27th
DNR directory Jeff Vonk will be in Webster City on Tuesday (Nov. 27) for a
meeting sponsored by the local chapter of the League of Women Voters. The
meeting starts at 7 p.m. and will be held at City Hall (400 2nd) in the City
Council chambers.

Vonk's talk is entitled "Large Animal Confinements: History, Issues and
Perspectives." According to the Ft. Dodge Messenger, he'll "review the
legislative history that allowed for the increase in large animal
confinements, present factual information regarding the environmental
impacts of these facilities, and discuss which governmental bodies and
agencies can be a difference for the future."

It sounds like he might discuss why his "hands are tied", as he did at a
meeting in Des Moines on Nov. 16.  If anyone is able to attend this meeting,
take notes and share them with the listserve.
