As a player in the bottle bill system in Iowa, redemption centers are part of the mix when looking at the politics of this issue. They are ones that would like to see the an increase penny cost of handling that the bottlers pay. Besides a dealer ( grocery stores, convience stores, other retailers) they are the ones handling the returnables and have a business doing that. Often they hire handicapped people. That is about all I know. I think people like Jane and Lyle can add to the discussion regarding the importance of their role in the move to get the bottle bill expanded or replaced with curbside recycling. Are they a part of the coalition we belong to ? Do they lobby this issue at the capitol ? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - For SC email list T-and-C, send: GET TERMS-AND-CONDITIONS.CURRENT to [log in to unmask]
