Merritt Frey of the Clean Water Network sent out a message recently about the upcoming meetings that the Iowa DNR is holding to kick off their Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) watershed cleanup plan work for the year. According to Merritt, "early involvement by concerned citizens is the best ingredient for a good TMDL cleanup plan!"
The agenda for the meetings will include an explanation of the TMDL process in general, an explanation of the impairment for the waterbody of concern, an explanation of what the public can expect from the DNR over the next several months with respect to the development of the TMDL, and an opportunity to ask questions and offer comments.
