As part of this overall effort, an informal,
bipartisan committee is being convened this week in
the Legislature.Ê Their single task is to deal with
the livestock issue in the current session.Ê

The committee is composed of equal numbers of
Republicans and Democrats, and equal numbers of House
and Senate members.Ê Members include: Senators Jerry
Behn (R-Ag Comm. Chair), Eugene Fraise (D), Stewart
Iverson (R), John Kibbie (D), Mary Lundby (R), and
Betty Soukup (D); Representatives include: Marcella
Frevert (D), Ralph Klemme (R-Chair of Ag Comm.), Mark
Kuhn (D), Gene Manternach (R), Russel Tieg (R), and
Willaim Witt (D).
