This is short notice, but I just got confirmation on the time today.

Pres. Bush is making a visit to Des Moines tomorrow for a fundraiser for Rep.
Latham. The $1000/plate luncheon will be held at the Marriott downtown.

Iowa PIRG and the Iowa Chapter Sierra Club will be gathering at the corner of
7th and Locust at 10:30 AM tomorrow to talk to the press about clean energy
policies that we believe should be part of the Administration's energy plan.
We will then stick around until Pres. Bush arrives around 11:30, to let him
know the direction we want energy policy to move in the U.S.

I hope you consider participating. We will have banners, an inflatable oil
derrick, and hopefully YOU! Bring signs to let Pres. Bush know that we don't
want to drill for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge; that we want a
Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) of 20% by the year 2020; and that we want
fuel efficiency standards to apply to light trucks and SUVs.

If you want more information, contact me at the office. I apologize if you
get this message twice, but I'm not sure who is or isn't subscribed to the
Iowa Topics listserv.
