Some of the local family farmers I have talked to would like to see a 
total  ban on the ownership of livestock by packers..   Can this be done on 
a state level?  If I remember right, there is a possible ban on the federal 
level.  Both farmers live in the Nevada area.  One has retired, and one is 
still in the business, Dave Swensen, (515) 382-5716  who raises about 500 pigs.
