Dear fellow Sierra Club members,
John Jeavons, organic gardening/mini-farming expert
and author of "How to Grow More Vegetables (Than You Ever Thought Possible on
Less Land Than You Can Imagine)" is an expert on truly sustainable
agriculture. His work is being promoted and taught here in Iowa by Billy
& Dawn Hunter of Aurora Community Farm in Jefferson County, where they give
biointensive growing workshops throughout the year and have a year-long
apprenticeship program. John was profiled on the front page of the San
Francisco Chronicle's Home & Garden Section on April 13. It's a great
story, here's the Web link:
You can reach the Hunters at 641-472-9941 or via
email at [log in to unmask] if you want
more information on biointensive & biodynamic farming in Iowa and the
Midwest.
Enjoy,
Patrick Bosold
