This article in the Christian Science Monitor reports that congress is considering a bill that would grant the Pentagon an exemption from some federal environmental laws that it did not have during the Gulf War. The article reports that the Pentagon currently spends $4 billion a year to comply with laws designed to remove hazardous wastes, clean the air, and protect endangered species.
