Lawmakers Held Accountable for Environmental Votes:
Iowa Chapter of the Sierra Club Launches Voter Education Campaign
Members of the Iowa Chapter of the Sierra Club will gather at Gray's Lake on Tuesday, June 25th to launch the Sierra Club's environmental voter education campaign in Iowa. The purposes of this campaign are to educate the public on the importance of environmental issues; to inform the public about the voting records of candidates in the Iowa Senate race and the District 4 Congressional race; and to urge the people of Iowa to contact our lawmakers, to hold them accountable for environmental votes and request that they vote to protect the environment in upcoming legislation.
As a supplement to on-the-ground work in the state, the Iowa Chapter of the Sierra Club will also be running television ads, starting June 26th. The ads will highlight the voting records of candidates in the Iowa Senate race and the District 4 Congressional race. The ads will urge Iowans to contact our lawmakers, to request that they vote to protect our country, our air, and our water, for our families and for our future. These television ads will be previewed at the campaign launch on June 25th.
