Peggy-
Until the staff person is hired, the committee will work to refine the work plan that I wrote as part of the grant application. This will mean deciding how much of the work we can actually get done by what date. The committee will also work on reaching out to other groups involved in water quality projects in the French Creek and Raccoon River watersheds, to get buy-in and particiation in the planning process. The committee will also set up meetings with the White Pines Group ExCom and Central Iowa Group ExCom and Conservation Committee, to make sure those Groups are involved in the planning process.
After the staff person is hired, the committee will help that person carry out the work plan, including hosting outings to French Creek and the Raccoon River, to educate members and the public about water quality issues. The committee will also work to increase Club participation in IOWATER, by meeting with Groups to talk about the program. Committee members will also be asked to help with comments and testimony regarding state water quality programs/rules/proposals.
