Environmental Quality: -. "Leaving Our Communities at Risk" report, describing how the Bush administration's environmental policies affect the lives of millions of Americans every day, due out September 17th. The report focuses on the administration's refusal to reauthorize the "polluter pays tax" that is essential to continue cleanups at thousands of Superfund sites across the country. It shows how toxic waste sites harm people's health, the environment, quality of life and economic vitality in 15 communities. The report also highlights the administration's clean air policies by describing communities at risk from increased pollution from coal-burning power plants, a refinery and a paper plant.
