STATE PRESERVES ADVISORY BOARD TO MEET OCT. 25 AT MOUNT MERCY COLLEGE CEDAR RAPIDS - The State Preserves Advisory Board, of the Iowa DNR, will meet at 8:30 a.m., Oct. 25, in Cherry Heritage Hall at Mount Mercy College, in Cedar Rapids. The meeting is open to the public. Board members will meet at the Hartman Reserve parking lot at 10 a.m., Oct. 24 for a tour of the area, and at 2 p.m. at Xavier High School for a tour of the Rock Island Preserve. The tours are open to the public. Be prepared to hike several miles on and off trails through various habitats. Members of the State Preserves Advisory Board are Robin Fortney, Tim Sproul, Scott Moats, Dr. Neil Bernstein, Dr. Laura Jackson and Kathy Gourley. The director of the DNR is Jeff Vonk.
