IOWATER SEEKS PROGRAM ASSOCIATE
The University of Iowa (State) Hygienic Laboratory, in cooperation with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (Iowa DNR), is seeking an individual for a full-time one-year term appointment to lead IOWATER, Iowa's fast growing statewide volunteer water quality monitoring program. The potential for continuation of the position is good pending funding. The position is located at Iowa DNR headquarters in the Wallace Building, Des Moines, IA. Work hours will be flexible and include some nights and weekends.
Duties will include the continued development of the program, field training of volunteers, facilitation outreach, and other administrative and public relation duties as assigned. Applicants should have a Master's degree in natural/physical science or public administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills, a valid driver's license and proficiency in PC word processing and data management are necessary. Highly desirable qualifications include experience in environmental education, public administration, and public speaking.
The salary range is: $35,000 - $40,000.
