WATER QUALITY PROJECTS UP FOR APPROVAL AT EPC MEETING Two water quality contracts will be sent to commissioners for approval at the March 17 Environmental Protection Commission meeting. A groundwater monitoring project would provide for continued sampling of 150 municipal wells for groundwater quality. Another project would aide in assessing nutrient control strategies as part of a statewide nutrient strategy. The regular EPC meeting will be held at the DNR office, 7900 Hickman Road in Urbandale. Public participation is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. The meeting is open to the public. Information on a proposed rule giving the DNR Director discretion on approval of animal feeding operation permits has been postponed until the April meeting.
