Rep. Nussle is not likely to be swayed by "eco-motional" appeals.  He
projects the benefits to the Treasury from oil and gas leases and tax
revenues.

I have asked for, and have not received, an analysis of the countervailing
subsidies to the oil companies that are tucked inside the budget:  What is
the net total bill the taxpayers will have to pay the oil companies for
delivering the crude?  (It's the same basic criticism of subsidies to the
timber companies:  we let them profit to our loss!)

Can Sierra/DC or other organization staff deliver an honest (even if not
complete) cost analysis?
