This Saturday  head to the Reese Homestead in the Loess Hills to celebrate Spring!  Landowner, David Zahrt, is actively restoring his Loess Hills prairie by clearing cedars and conducting prescribed burns. This weekends workday will continue this effort.  This is a great opportunity to see a beautiful privately owned Loess Hills prairie and there's a good chance pasqueflowers might be blooming. 

Please wear sturdy shoes and bring a backpack to carry water and other gear, since you'll need to hike to the work site. 

The workday will start at 9:30am with a potluck lunch to follow.  David will be making chilli (both veg & meat), bread and drinks will also be provided.  Please bring a side dish to share.  David also makes great homemade bagels!

Directions:  Take I-29  to Onawa, IA.  Head east on Hwy 175 through Onawa to the small town of Turin.  Turn north (left) on Larpenteur Memorial Road and go north for 1 mile.  The Country Homestead Bed and Breakfast (Reese Homestead) will be on your right side (a sign is in the front yard).  Address:  22133 Larpenteur Mem. Road.  It takes approximately 1 hour from Omaha.
