BE A PART OF EARTH WEEK 2003!

The Iowa Chapter of the Sierra Club is coordinating
a volunteer event on Saturday, April 26th.

Volunteers will be educating Iowans about the need to protect Iowa's air and water quality by walking in Des Moines area neighborhoods, talking to residents and asking them to put up yard signs and sign postcards.

We'll be meeting at 9:30 AM (RAIN OR SHINE) at Walker Johnston Regional Park in Urbandale, located at Douglas and 92nd.  After going through a brief training session, we'll form teams of volunteers and then spread out to specific neighborhoods, talking to people from 10:15 to 12:30.  We'll meet back at the park at 12:30 for a lunch celebration.

Contact Erin (515-277-8868 or [log in to unmask]) if you have questions and/or would like to volunteer to make a difference for Iowa's air and water quality.

But if you're busy on Saturday, we have
volunteer opportunities on other days, too!

Putting together yard signs:  we'll meet at the Chapter office at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, April 23.

Taking down yard signs: we'll meet at the Chapter office at 10 AM on Saturday, May 17.

Calling Sierra Club members to recruit volunteers: we'll meet at the Chapter office at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, April 22; Thursday, April 24; and Friday, April 25.

We can do better!  We can protect Iowa's air and water.
