I spoke with Kirk Heinrich and unfortunately the Boy Scout service learning event has been canceled for September 20th.  Only 5 scouts signed up.  Thank you for all of your responses to my request for volunteers!

Although this event was canceled, Kirk has another opportunity for us to obtain some energetic volunteers.  Kirk is a teacher at a local high school where he teaches a social justice class.  This year, instead of just teaching about social justice, Kirk is going to ask his students to do a service learning project instead of writing a paper.  He will be contacting SC to see what projects we have where we need some volunteer help!  I think this is a great opportunity to get some energetic young adults interested in the environment and the work that SC is doing.
