Actually, the state of Iowa received a "thistle" and Sierra Club was
mentioned in the article.

It's not a very long article so I have typed it in here.

A "thistle" to the state of Iowa for failing to issue warnings about mercury
in fish.  According to the Sierra Club, Iowa is one of the few states, and
the only Midwestern one, that don't warn residents about the threat of
mercury, even though the element shows up in Iowa waterways.  Bass and
walleye harbor the most mercury, and eating those fish is the most common
way of getting mercury poisoning.  This is not just some fish tale: Mercury
poisoning is particularly harmful for developing children.
