Dear Iowa Sierrans:

 

"Our state fair is a great state fair.  Don't miss it don't even be late." 

 

Those lyrics about the Iowa State Fair were written for Rodgers & Hammerstein's movie musical released in 1945.  This year's Iowa State Fair, running from August 12-22, will celebrate 150 years of Iowa's summer tradition.  The Iowa Chapter will once again be sponsoring a booth and we need volunteers to help us promote the Sierra Club message by staffing it.

 

Shifts are broken down into four hours apiece:

    9 a.m. to 1 p.m.;

    1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and

    5 p.m. to 9 p.m. 

As a thank you, we will be providing one free admission ticket for each day that you volunteer for a shift.
