Subject: Phyllis is a letter to the editor rock star!
Another great LTE in today's Register:
Green light for
polluters
The "Meaningless Air Standard" July 21 editorial is right on. The
World
Health Organization and experts from the University of Iowa and Iowa
State
have recommended 15 parts per billion (ppb) hydrogen sulfide as safe
for
human health.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resource's proposal
for 30 ppb is a green
light for factory farms to continue polluting Iowa's
air. Not only do those
of us who live in rural Iowa have to breathe that
polluted air, we are
forced to subsidize large animal confinements with tax
dollars.
Factory-farm producers get richer while Iowa citizens get
sicker.

Van Wert.
