The Sierra Club is "Still the One" drawing attention to environmental
issues in Iowa, including energy.
The Iowa Chapter of Sierra Club will participate in this year's Iowa State
Fair parade on Wednesday, August 11 in Des Moines. Laura Belin has
graciously offered to drive her 2003 Prius as the centerpiece of our
entry. We need participants to help carry the Sierra Club banner and
Sierra Club posters. Members and their families and friends are invited to
walk the parade route with us from the Capitol west along Grand Avenue.
We will gather across from the Capitol at the Lucas Building, E. 12th
St. between Grand and Walnut, at 6:15 p.m. Parking will not be
allowed in the parade staging area. Organizers suggest having a driver
drop you off at the Capitol complex and either park or meet you at the
dispersion area that begins at 10th & Grand.
Wear your Sierra Club garments!
Please call me at 277-8868 or e-mail me at
[log in to unmask] and let me know if you
will be joining us or if you have any questions or concerns about this fun
event.
Please forward this message to other Sierrans so they may have an
opportunity to participate too.
Thanks and I look forward to seeing you at the parade!
