+ ORDER 81 - A "CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY"
Laureates of the Right Livelihood Award, the 'alternative Nobel Prize',
have demanded of the US and Iraqi governments that they repeal Order 81,
which the Laureates call a "crime against humanity". Order 81, passed by
Mr. Paul Bremer, the US official in charge of reconstruction of Iraq, will
effectively prevent Iraqi farmers from using their ancient varieties of
seeds and crops, and is forcing them to depend on corporate patented and GM
seeds.
