In case someone might be interested, a prairie remnant is for sale in Story
County.  It's a potential building site near Ames and Nevada, and is priced
accordingly.  There are a few acres of cropland next to a road where a house
could be built without damaging the prairie pasture and creek that comprise most
of the property.  As is often the case, certain parts of the pasture are of
much better quality than the rest, but the entire pasture has potential to
improve a lot when managed well.

Below is the ad that appeared in the Ames DAILY TRIBUNE on 11/18/05.  Below
that are just a few of the flowers I saw during a quick survey about a month
ago.  If you know a good potential conservation buyer, please inform that
person.  (The Story County Conservation Board knows about but is unable to buy the
property.)
