Pro-Drilling Senators Sneak
Arctic Drilling Into The Budget Yet Again!
Tell Your Senators To Vote Against Any Budget That Opens
the Arctic Refuge to Drilling
Dear Alaska Advocate,
The U.S. Senate is scheduled to vote this Thursday, March 16, 2006 on a budget resolution that would open the Arctic Refuge to oil drilling. Because of tireless efforts from you and your peers, the U.S. Congress rejected these same cynical tactics last year. Now we need your help again.
Please take action now. Urge your Senators to oppose any bill that would open the Arctic Refuge to drilling. Tell them that using the budget to open the Arctic Refuge is irresponsible and is a flagrant abuse of the budget process. You can also remind them that in light of the recent North Slope oil spill (click [log in to unmask]" target=_blank>here for more info about the spill), we should not be advancing legislation that would sacrifice the pristine wilderness of the Arctic Refuge for the sake of a dirty oil industry with record profits. Instead we should start looking for cleaner and more efficient energy sources.
TAKE ACTION NOW! Please call your senators. We'll give you their phone numbers and suggest a few things to say -- [log in to unmask]">just click here. After you've made these calls, [log in to unmask]">click here to email your senators. The more ways that we contact our senators, the better.
Thank you for your dedication and your passion. It is because of you that we are keeping Alaska wild.
Sincerely,

Cindy Shogan
