News from Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation - Bird Forum June 17: "Deepening Our Understanding and Involvement-The Bluffland Birds in Crisis." This day-long event focuses on the Upper Mississippi River bluffland region and its importance to Neotropical migratory birds. Participants will learn about protecting and managing habitat for these birds. Activities include a morning bird hike led by the Iowa DNR Wildlife Diversity biologist, and Iowa Audubon IBA Coordinator, indoor presentations by Audubon Upper Mississippi River Campaign, Iowa DNR, and INHF staff, lunch and outdoor field trips on the river and across special private bluffland properties. Registration is limited to 60 participants, and the day is designed for landowners, local policy-makers and conservationists. The cost is $10 and pre-registration is required.
