I sent some basic information on this a few days ago, but this gives more details.

Subject: DNR's Frog and Toad Survey

Hi folks!

Spring is right around the corner  - and if the weather stays this mild all
winter the frogs and toads will be singing before we know it!  I wanted to
let you all know about an opportunity to get some training in how to run a
frog and toad survey route.  The wildlife diversity program is putting on 3
workshops in February through March in various locations in the state to
train folks how to do a frog and toad survey.  If you have any friends that
might be interested please pass this info on and feel free to sign up for a
workshop yourself if you'd like to get a little more formal training and
learn how to submit your data online. The schedule of workshops is listed
below or go to
http://www.iowadnr.com/wildlife/files/divvols.html for more
info though not all the workshops are posted just yet.

Please note: I know that some of you have already been through this training
a few years ago, and because of problems with the online database we'd had
to put on hold doing any more workshops.  We are revamping the online
database and it will hopefully work better.  If you've been through this
training and want to be updated when the new database goes online, let me
know and I will keep you posted!  Thanks for your patience!

In other news we've just produced a new frog and toad cd with 83 tracks and
new narration by Jim Pease.  If you have an active route, you will get one
in the mail with your materials in March.  Hope you enjoy it!  Also coming
your way will be some new volunteer patches which you can pin or sew on for
when you're doing your survey and want to look more official!

Well I hope everyone is well and you're enjoying this mild winter!  Thanks
for all you do!
