We had a total of 84 attend our joint COSC/USGBC lunch-n-learn last week on 'Local Resources for Green'. What an incredible turnout! It is amazing to see so many excited about green building in Iowa - both from the commercial and residential markets.
If you are in the home building business, remember to sign up this week for the 'Building a Sustainable Iowa' workshop. This highly valuable professional opportunity is the most comprehensive residential green building training available in Iowa and we only offer it once a year.

2nd Annual Earth Day Celebration

Historic Valley Junction, Fair World Gallery, Center on Sustainable Communities (COSC), and the city of West Des Moines are hosting the 2nd Annual Earth Day Celebration in Rail Road Park on Sunday, April 22, 2007 from noon to 5:00pm. Other businesses participating and exhibiting so far are Heard Gardens, Rasmussen Bike Shop, MidAmerican Energy and Campbell's Nutrition. We are also adding a race and fun run this year which will be managed by Chris Burch of the Des Moines Marathon. Look for more information during the next month on COSC's website www.icosc.com
