IA conservation group buys 1,200 "wild acres

A nonprofit conservation group has purchased more than 1,200 acres of the 
state's wildest land for about $4.3 million.

The Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation purchased the land along the Upper Iowa 
River in Allamakee County on Feb. 14 from the estate of the late Forrest and 
Gladys Ryan, of Dorchester, records showed.
