We will: Review the Sierra Club's Principles of Environmental Justice, and apply them to local and national issues Familiarize ourselves with the role of environmental justice in the Sierra Club's mission and activities Explore the relationship between race, class, and environmental injustice Analyze and describe the social justice dimensions of environmental issues for the communities that are impacted Analyze successful Sierra Club Environmental Justice initiatives to learn what led to success Review Executive Order 12898 so that we understand and can describe its mandates Please note that your participation will take at least two hours a week, and possibly four or more hours.
