Residential Solar Power Workshop

and learn the ins and outs of adding solar (PV) to your home! 


This workshop will cover the basics of residential sized, grid-tied photovoltaic solar systems. After a brief overview of how the solar panels convert solar energy into electricity, we will learn how to design a system, including how to determine costs, additional equipment and placement of the solar (PV- Photovoltaic) panels.

We are proud to announce that Dennis Pottratz, from Go Solar, will lead the workshop. He is one of Iowa's most experienced solar and small wind power installers in the state. 

Many Iowans are looking for ways to reduce their carbon footprint and go green! Adding solar to your home is a viable option in Iowa and one that is becoming increasingly popular.

More on Dennis Pottratz: 
Dennis has operated Go Solar, a solar and wind installation company from Decorah, IA since 1996. He has conducted numerous classes and installation workshops for I-Renew including the design and installation workshop for the New Bohemia installation in Cedar Rapids, IA, Iowa's largest multi-array solar installation. In 2005, Dennis became Iowa's first nationally certified solar installer.
