FW: [Localcontrol] FYI - legislative interim committee Paula Feltner of the Local Control Coalition...lobbies for a Fairfield group...made the following suggestion to the Coalition.

I agree totally with her. The legislators on the study committee, in my previous email should be targeted. Those of you in Sierra Groups who have any of those legislators among yours, please generate as much careful, and considered, comment to them as possible. I expect we will refine this even more as September approaches and the meeting dates are announced.

Letters and personal visits are best at this point, because there is time for that, and those methods give the greatest opportunity for well stated, careful and considered comments and hopefully conversation.

Lyle

Subject: [Localcontrol] FYI - legislative interim committee

The members of the interim committee on livestock odor have just been appointed.  It would be great to generate some grass roots in these districts right now before they meet to let them know voters in their districts want something done THIS YEAR!!!  It is modest in focus and could kick off a good grassroots campaign if we could have some initial effect in these legislative districts.  The meetings will be scheduled in September so we have only one and a half months to deliver calls and contacts from people they know and who vote with a goal of a thorough committee discussion and a good and doable bill draft (versus blowing the issue off).  I recommend we shift into action in these districts.
