OELWEIN - Two Oelwein men were arrested Tuesday for alleged
commercialization of wildlife following the serving of search warrants
at each of their houses.
Conservation Officers from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources
served search warrants at the houses of 51 year-old Roy William
Brockmeyer and 34 year-old Steven “Chad” Brockmeyer. Fayette County
Deputies transported the pair to the county jail. Roy Brockmeyer was to
be held on $10,000 bond and Chad Brockmeyer was to be held on $5,000
bond.
Items were seized pursuant to the search warrants at each of the
residences. The District Court judge who issued the search warrants
ordered that the warrants be sealed so the contents of the warrants and
the inventory of seized property cannot be released.
At this time each man has been charged with two counts of
commercialization of wildlife. Investigation is continuing and numerous
other charges are pending.
