BROKEN SEWER LINE RELEASES WASTEWATER TO IOWA RIVER IN CORALVILLE

CORALVILLE – About 6,000 gallons of wastewater flowed to Clear Creek which flows into the Iowa River in Coralville after a contractor cracked a sewer line Tuesday afternoon.

 

The contractor was removing a culvert as part of the Highway 6 widening project when he jack hammered into a sewer line that was under the culvert.

 

The sewer line has been repaired.

 

Downstream water supplies have been notified, along with the Iowa City School District and Coralville Parks.
