Forwarded by Jane Clark IOWA RIVERS REVIVAL ---HIRING A Program director The non-profit Iowa Rivers Revival seeks a motivated, creative, passionate individual to plan and execute an issues campaign and coordinate its annual event, the Iowa Rivers Revival, in the spring of 2008. These contracted services will culminate after event details are completed in late spring of 2008, with potential for continuing employment. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to strategize appropriate tools and tactics to inspire the public seek change regarding bacteria caused by human and animal waste in Iowa's streams while building greater passion among people who already care about rivers. Must be able to clearly and consistently communicate and articulate campaign issues and their relation to the vision and mission of Iowa Rivers Revival. Must be able to develop relationships with rivers/watershed groups around the state through this campaign and adapt to their needs. Also must be capable of communication through media, including grassroots e-mail; designed print materials for direct mailings, posters or advertisements; Web site management; media exposure from print, television, radio, and blogs; and traditional outreach methods. Will assist the IRR board with developing a theme and managing the annual rivers event through its third year, integrating communications strategies to drive attendance, and conducting sponsorship/fundraising networking and tasks related to the event. This will be a part-time position beginning at 10 hours per week with the possibility of additional hours as the position progresses. Pay is $20-$25 per hour.
