Iowa Climate Change Advisory Council MEETINGS SCHEDULED
Des Moines – The Iowa Climate Change Advisory Council (ICCAC) will hold a conference call November 15 at 9 a.m. to discuss and formalize their intent to seek assistance from the Center for Climate Strategies (CCS). This call is open to the public. To participate, dial 1 (866) 685-1580. Enter conference code number 5152425296.
CCS is a nonprofit service organization that works directly with public officials and their stakeholders to identify, design, and implement policies that address climate mitigation, clean energy, and economic development opportunities. CCS’s work is funded by private sources.
Meeting Date Changed for ICCAC December Meeting
The meeting date of the next Iowa Climate Change Advisory Council has been changed to Monday, December 17, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the St. Ambrose University Rogalski Center, 518 W. Locust Street, Davenport.
Currently slated for the agenda are discussion and a decision for the interim report for Governor Culver and the Iowa General Assembly due January 1, 2008. Other topics may include an update on the Iowa greenhouse gas emissions inventory and forecast, and a draft catalog of state actions. An agenda with time scheduled for public comment will be posted at http://www.iowadnr.gov/iccac/index.html.
Subcommittees’ Membership Determined
Since its first meeting October 18, ICCAC has divided into five subcommittees to develop multiple scenarios to reduce statewide greenhouse gas emissions: Energy Efficiency and Conservation; Clean and Renewable Energy; Transportation and Land Use Efficiency: Agriculture and Forestry; and Cross-Cutting (continuity).
