Forward from Juliana Williams, Sierra Student Coalition.

Friends,

Peabody Coal is the largest coal company in the world.  They're pushing new coal plants, new coal-to-liquid plants, and more dangerous coal mining.  They are the greatest threat to our country's clean energy future and our ability to slow global warming.

Please join activists from Iowa, Illinois and Missouri this Saturday, November 17th, at a rally in front of Peabody's Headquarters in St. Louis hosted by the Sierra Club, opposing the proposed coal-fired power plant in Marissa, IL (just across the state border from St. Louis).  There will be a bus going from Iowa City to the rally and back.  The bus will leave from the Iowa Memorial Union (IMU) on the University of Iowa campus at 7:30am and return by approximately 8pm.  Lunch will be provided.  If you or someone in your group is interested in protesting Peabody with us on November 17th, please contact me ASAP so we can save a seat for you! Thanks.
