Mark Kresowik will give a presentation on energy and global warming
issues. He’ll discuss coal-fired power plant issues, greenhouse gas
emissions, Cool Cities efforts around the state and current legislative efforts
to address global warming. He’ll also cover how Iowa could reach a goal of
80% reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Mark has worked on
energy efficiency issues for over three years and he will explain how Iowa could
reach a goal of at least 2% of annual energy sales with energy efficiency.
Mark Kresowik is an organizer with Sierra Club's Midwest Clean Energy Campaign
in Iowa. During that period he has assisted and coordinated volunteers on
campaigns against two new coal plants, two existing coal plants, several Cool
Cities campaigns, and worked extensively on state and federal global warming
issues. Our public programs are 7:30-9:00 p.m. at Grace United Methodist
Church, 37th & Cottage Grove, just north of I-235 in Des Moines.
